A highly-experienced and innovative media expert, with over 15 years experience in entertainment-related marketing (13 years in a senior-level capacity), I am now looking to bring my experience, wealth of contacts and PR know-how to you and your organization.
My experience is incredibly diverse, running the gamut from corporate communications to events, unit publicity, social media marketing, non-profits and so much more.
In my current role as Marketing Director of ICON West Media, I expanded my repertoire beyond Entertainment and Corporate marketing, into industries such as Consumer Products (Retail), Character/Brand Licensing, Financial Services, Health Insurance, Private Aviation, Online Printing, Home Restoration, Utilities, Online Education and Bridal Services, among others. Adding to the traditional media strategies, I have helped build and maintain a social media presence and leveraged strategic email marketing campaigns to increase sales.
From 2006-2009, I helped The MoonScoop Group of France establish a foothold in the US, building the profile of their consumer products licensing and worldwide distribution company, Taffy Entertainment, into one of the most-respected names in the industry. In 2007, Taffy entered the list of License! Global magazine's "Top 100 Licensors" for the first time; in 2008, won Kidscreen Magazine's first-ever "Distributor of the Year" award, and followed that with the first-ever License! Global Challenge at the Bologna Book Fair -- all due in part to the PR campaigns I implemented prior to each event. I was also lucky enough to be working with some incredibly talented executives and producers, but as you know, unless people know about your incredible work, it all too often falls on deaf ears.
I have also spent the past couple years building my knowledge base in the ever-expanding world of social media and new technologies, while spearheading the 2007 launch and subsequent growth of Kabillion, the multi-platform kids' entertainment service, available as an On-Demand channel as well as a COPPA & CARU-compliant entertainment website. Kabillion-oriented web pages can now be found on Wikipedia, MySpace, Facebook and others.
My work experience also includes six years working for NBC on such notable shows as "Just Shoot Me," “Scrubs,” “Watching Ellie,” “Freaks and Geeks,” “Good Morning, Miami” and the hugely successful summer reality series “Crime & Punishment." Beginning in 2003, I branched out on my own, taking on projects for such varied clients as The Tennis Channel, Anime Network, PBS, Game Show Network, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and ABC Family.
Although I’ve had success in the primetime arena, I also count among my biggest accomplishments my work outside of primetime, in both kids’ programming and in syndication.
While serving as Director of Publicity at the renowned Hanna-Barbera Cartoons Studio, I worked on the launch campaigns of such current children’s icons as “The Powerpuff Girls,” Dexter’s Laboratory,” and “Johnny Bravo,” among others.
I also take great pride in creating and implementing Emmy-winning campaigns for such “off-the-radar” projects as Kabillion's "I Got A Rocket," The Disney Channel’s “Avonlea,” “Tricia Yearwood: The Song Remembers When” and “Harry Connick Jr.: The New York Big Band Concert,” and serving as publicist to The Disney Channel’s “Mickey Mouse Club,” which featured current mega-stars Keri Russell, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
Complementing the numerous consumer PR campaigns I’ve handled is my entertainment trade experience. I have spearheaded campaigns at PROMAX, NATPE, MIP, MIPCOM, Licensing Expo, the Bologna & Frankfurt Book Fairs, NCTA, Toy Fair and Comic-Con, for such entities as Taffy Entertainment, Cartoon Network/Hanna-Barbera, Samuel Goldwyn Television, Stephen J. Cannell Productions and NBC Enterprises, among others.
Although TV clearly makes up the bulk of my expertise, you should know my experience in entertainment is well-rounded. In the home entertainment field, I’ve handled the Buena Vista Home Entertainment releases “The Best of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” and “ Martin and Lewis : Their Golden Age of Comedy.” In music, I’ve worked with the teen bands N’SYNC , The Moffatts, 98° and EYC, as well as such established stars as Fleetwood Mac, Paula Abdul, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
I thrive on challenges and can’t foresee any project which is beyond help. I’ve learned from experience that there is always something uniquely promotable about any project -- or it never would have been made. You need someone who knows how to cut through the industry B.S., with great media connections and whose enthusiasm and creativity can find the press breaks that will make your project a success.
